Stevenson Ranch, located on the west side of the I-5 freeway in the Santa Clarita Valley, includes the master-planned community of Stevenson Ranch as well as the area known as South Stevenson Ranch.

The Stevenson Ranch area is situated between Six Flags Magic Mountain and the historic oil-mining town of Mentryville in the foothills of the Santa Susana Mountains.
The master-planned development of Stevenson Ranch has a variety of single family homes, townhomes and condos. This master-planned development encompasses about 4,000 acres, with about 1,000 acres allocated as open space and parks.
The area known as South Stevenson Ranch, which is not part of the master-planned community of Stevenson Ranch, is made up of various smaller developments, inlcuding the luxury developments of Southern Oaks and the Enclave. Many homes in the Stevenson Ranch and South Stevenson Ranch areas have mountain and city views.
Movie and TV buffs may recognize portions of the Stevenson Ranch area as settings for the popular shows Weeds and Pleasantville.

Stevenson Ranch California Schools rank amongst the highest-rated schools in the state, with all schools reporting API scores above the state goal of 800 for 2009.
Stevenson Ranch’s public schools are organized into elementary schools (grades K-6), junior high schools (grades 7-8) and high schools (grades 9-12). The elementary schools are lower-population neighborhood schools governed by the Newhall School District. The junior high and high schools are more regional and are governed by the William S Hart Union High School District (Hart District).
